Nordman Fir
Nordman Fir

One of the most popular Christmas trees
One of the most popular Christmas trees the Nordman Fir (Abies Nordmanniana), also known as Caucasian fir, originates in the mountains south and east of the Black Sea, in Turkey, Georgia, Turkey, Georgia, Russian Caucasus, North Armenia and northwest Azerbaijan. It occurs at altitudes of 900–2,200 m.
These are generally bushy trees, which have thick needles and have very good needle holding qualities. They can be, however, some of the expensive of all the trees because of factors like the time they take to grow and the extra work that is involved with growing a premium quality tree.
The Norman Fir is an extremely popular tree known for:
- its ability to retain its needles for longer in an indoor environment.
- It has non-pointy flattened needles with dark green soft foliage
- Pleasant and specific soft aroma
- This tree will usually last around four weeks in good condition before it begins to dry out.

Fraser Fir
Fraser Fir

A new entry to Christmas Trees in UK
The Fraser Fir (Abies Fraseri) is named after the Scottish botanist John Fraser (1750–1811), who explored the southern Appalachian Mountains in the late 18th century. This tree is sometimes referred to as Southern balsam or Southern balsam fir. In the past, in some instances Fraser fir was also known as “She balsam” because of the resin filled blisters on the tree’s trunk.
Fraser Fir is a pyramid shaped tree, which reaches a maximum height of about 80 feet and a diameter of 1-1.5 feet. Its strong branches are turned slightly upward which gives the tree a compact appearance.
It has flat, shiny, dark-green needles-like leaves, arranged spirally on the twigs but twisted at their bases to form 2 rows on each twig. The foliage is dense and soft – an ideal tree for indoors, where space is limited. The tree’s distinctive aroma will add to the magical mood and feel of Christmas.
This tree is known for its:
- Narrow and compact pyramid shape.
- Good needle holding tree.
- Strong branches for hanging heavy decorations
- Ideal tree for indoors

The leaves are needle-like with blunt tips, 12–24 mm long, quadrangular in cross-section (not flattened), and dark green on all four sides. It has branchlets that typically hang downwards.
